'Case' in the Bible
Therefore, I will bring a case against you again.This is the Lord’s declaration.I will bring a case against your children’s children.
They have become fat and sleek.They have also excelled in evil matters.They have not taken up cases,such as the case of the fatherless, so they might prosper,and they have not defended the rights of the needy.
But, Lord of Hosts, who judges righteously,who tests heart and mind,let me see Your vengeance on them,for I have presented my case to You.
You will be righteous, Lord,even if I bring a case against You.Yet, I wish to contend with You:Why does the way of the wicked prosper?Why do all the treacherous live at ease?
Lord of Hosts, testing the righteousand seeing the heart and mind,let me see Your vengeance on them,for I have presented my case to You.
The tumult reaches to the ends of the earthbecause the Lord brings a case against the nations.He enters into judgment with all flesh.As for the wicked, He hands them over to the sword—this is the Lord’s declaration.
No one takes up the case for your sores.There is no healing for you.
You performed signs and wonders in the land of Egypt and do so to this very day both in Israel and among mankind. You made a name for Yourself, as is the case today.
Their Redeemer is strong;Yahweh of Hosts is His name.He will fervently plead their caseso that He might bring rest to the earthbut turmoil to those who live in Babylon.
Therefore, this is what the Lord says:I am about to plead your caseand take vengeance on your behalf;I will dry up her seaand make her fountain run dry.
