'Defilement' in the Bible
And he shall take, to purge the house from the defilement, two birds, and cedar-wood, and scarlet, and hyssop;
and he shall purge the house from the defilement with the blood of the bird, and with the running water, and with the living bird, and with the cedar-wood, and with the hyssop, and with the scarlet;
If a man lies [intimately] with his daughter-in-law, both of them shall most certainly be put to death; they have committed incest; their blood is on them.
And he said to them, "Hear me, O Levites! Sanctify yourselves now, and sanctify the house of Yahweh, the God of your ancestors, and bring out the defilement from the sanctuary.
if my step has turned out of the way, if my heart walked after my eyes, if any defilement has stuck to my hands,
