'Desert' in the Bible

Otherwise, I will strip her nakedand expose her as she was on the day of her birth.I will make her like a desertand like a parched land,and I will let her die of thirst.

Therefore, Look! I [am] going to allure her and bring her [into] the desert, and {I will speak tenderly to her}.
