'Eat' in the Bible

Have all the workers of wickedness and injustice no knowledge,Who eat up my people as they eat bread,And do not call upon the Lord?

The afflicted will eat and be satisfied;Those who [diligently] seek Him and require Him [as their greatest need] will praise the Lord.May your hearts live forever!

All the prosperous of the earth will eat and worship;All those who go down to the dust (the dead) will bow before Him,Even he who cannot keep his soul alive.

When the wicked came against me to eat up my flesh,My adversaries and my enemies, they stumbled and fell.

“Shall I eat the flesh of bullsOr drink the blood of male goats?

Have workers of wickedness no knowledge or no understanding?They eat up My people as though they ate breadAnd have not called upon God.

And He rained down manna upon them to eatAnd gave them the grain of heaven.

My heart has been struck like grass and withered,Indeed, [absorbed by my heartache] I forget to eat my food.

It is vain for you to rise early,To retire late,To eat the bread of anxious labors—For He gives [blessings] to His beloved even in his sleep.

For you shall eat the fruit of [the labor of] your hands,You will be happy and blessed and it will be well with you.

Do not incline my heart to [consent to or tolerate] any evil thing,Or to practice deeds of wickednessWith men who plan and do evil;And let me not eat of their delicacies (be tempted by their gain).
