'Flood' in the Bible
Behold, I, even I am bringing the flood of water upon the earth, to destroy all flesh in which is the breath of life, from under heaven; everything that is on the earth shall perish.
Now Noah was six hundred years old when the flood of water came upon the earth.
Then Noah and his sons and his wife and his sons’ wives with him entered the ark because of the water of the flood.
It came about after the seven days, that the water of the flood came upon the earth.
Then the flood came upon the earth for forty days, and the water increased and lifted up the ark, so that it rose above the earth.
I establish My covenant with you; and all flesh shall never again be cut off by the water of the flood, neither shall there again be a flood to destroy the earth.”
and I will remember My covenant, which is between Me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and never again shall the water become a flood to destroy all flesh.
Noah lived three hundred and fifty years after the flood.
Now these are the records of the generations of Shem, Ham, and Japheth, the sons of Noah; and sons were born to them after the flood.
These are the families of the sons of Noah, according to their genealogies, by their nations; and out of these the nations were separated on the earth after the flood.
These are the records of the generations of Shem. Shem was one hundred years old, and became the father of Arpachshad two years after the flood;
“Terrors overtake him like a flood;A tempest steals him away in the night.
“Who has cleft a channel for the flood,Or a way for the thunderbolt,
The Lord sat as King at the flood;Yes, the Lord sits as King forever.
Therefore, let everyone who is godly pray to You in a time when You may be found;Surely in a flood of great waters they will not reach him.
I have sunk in deep mire, and there is no foothold;I have come into deep waters, and a flood overflows me.
May the flood of water not overflow meNor the deep swallow me up,Nor the pit shut its mouth on me.
You have swept them away like a flood, they fall asleep;In the morning they are like grass which sprouts anew.
Wrath is fierce and anger is a flood,But who can stand before jealousy?
“For this is like the days of Noah to Me,When I swore that the waters of NoahWould not flood the earth again;So I have sworn that I will not be angry with youNor will I rebuke you.
Then after the sixty-two weeks the Messiah will be cut off and have nothing, and the people of the prince who is to come will destroy the city and the sanctuary. And its end will come with a flood; even to the end there will be war; desolations are determined.
But with an overflowing floodHe will make a complete end of its site,And will pursue His enemies into darkness.
