'Foundations' in the Bible

The foundations of the doorways shook at the sound of their voices, and the temple was filled with smoke.

Therefore I will make the heavens tremble,and the earth will shake from its foundationsat the wrath of the Lord of Hosts,on the day of His burning anger.

Whoever flees at the sound of panicwill fall into a pit,and whoever escapes from the pitwill be caught in a trap.For the windows are opened from heaven,and the foundations of the earth are shaken.

Do you not know?Have you not heard?Has it not been declared to youfrom the beginning?Have you not consideredthe foundations of the earth?

But you have forgotten the Lord, your Maker,who stretched out the heavensand laid the foundations of the earth.You are in constant dread all day longbecause of the fury of the oppressor,who has set himself to destroy.But where is the fury of the oppressor?

“Poor Jerusalem, storm-tossed, and not comforted,I will set your stones in black mortar,and lay your foundations in sapphires.

Some of you will rebuild the ancient ruins;you will restore the foundations laid long ago;you will be called the repairer of broken walls,the restorer of streets where people live.
