'Grapevine' in the Bible

He is not to eat anything produced by the grapevine, from seeds to skin, during his vow.

Later, the trees said to the grapevine,“Come and reign over us.”

But the grapevine said to them,“Should I stop giving my winethat cheers both God and man,and rule over trees?”

She must not eat anything that comes from the grapevine or drink wine or beer. And she must not eat anything unclean. Your wife must do everything I have commanded her.”

“I went down to the orchard of nut treesTo see the flowers of the valley,To see whether the grapevine had buddedAnd the pomegranates were in flower.

“I said, ‘I will climb the palm tree;I will grasp its branches.Let your breasts be like clusters of the grapevine,And the fragrance of your breath like apples,

“Son of man, how is the wood of the grapevine (Israel) better than any wood of a branch which is among the trees of the forest?

Therefore this is what the Lord GOD says: "Just as the wood from a grape vine is removed from the forest and used for kindling fires, I'm giving the inhabitants of Jerusalem over

It has devastated My grapevineand splintered My fig tree.It has stripped off its bark and thrown it away;its branches have turned white.

The grapevine is dried up,and the fig tree is withered;the pomegranate, the date palm, and the apple—all the trees of the orchard—have withered.Indeed, human joy has dried up.

Don’t be afraid, wild animals,for the wilderness pastures have turned green,the trees bear their fruit,and the fig tree and grapevine yield their riches.

But each man will sit under his grapevineand under his fig treewith no one to frighten him.For the mouth of the Lord of Hostshas promised this.

Is the seed still in the barn? As to the vine, the fig tree, the pomegranate, and the olive tree—they have not produced. Yet from this day on I will bless you [in the harvest of your crops].’”

Can a fig tree produce olives, my brothers, or a grapevine produce figs? Neither can a saltwater spring yield fresh water.
