'Hills' in the Bible
In the last daysthe mountain of the Lord’s house will be establishedat the top of the mountainsand will be raised above the hills. All nations will stream to it,
You will not go to all the hillsthat were once tilled with a hoe,for fear of the thorns and briers. Those hills will be places for oxen to grazeand for sheep to trample.
The nations rage like the raging of many waters. He rebukes them, and they flee far away, driven before the wind like chaff on the hillsand like tumbleweeds before a gale.
They will all be left for the birds of prey on the hillsand for the wild animals of the land. The birds will spend the summer on them, and all the animals, the winter on them.
Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his handor marked off the heavens with the span of his hand?Who has gathered the dust of the earth in a measureor weighed the mountains in a balanceand the hills in the scales?
See, I will make you into a sharp threshing board, new, with many teeth. You will thresh mountains and pulverize themand make hills into chaff.
I will lay waste mountains and hillsand dry up all their vegetation.I will turn rivers into islandsand dry up marshes.
Though the mountains moveand the hills shake,My love will not be removed from youand My covenant of peace will not be shaken,”says your compassionate Lord.
You will indeed go out with joyand be peacefully guided;the mountains and the hills will break into singing before you,and all the trees of the field will clap their hands.
for your iniquities and the iniquitiesof your fathers together,”says the Lord.“Because they burned incense on the mountainsand reproached Me on the hills,I will reward them fullyfor their former deeds.”
