'Hosts' in the Bible

It is as Isaiah foretold,“If the Lord of Hosts had not left us seed [future generations from which a believing remnant of Israelites came],We would have become like Sodom, and would have resembled Gomorrah [totally rejected and destroyed]!”

extinguished the power of [raging] fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, became mighty and unbeatable in battle, putting enemy forces to flight.

Look! The wages that you have [fraudulently] withheld from the laborers who have mowed your fields are crying out [against you for vengeance]; and the cries of the harvesters have come to the ears of the Lord of Sabaoth.
