'Lips' in the Bible
‘This people honors Me with their lips,But their heart is far away from Me.
And He said to them, “Rightly did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written:‘This people honors Me with their lips,But their heart is far away from Me.
And all were speaking well of Him, and wondering at the gracious words which were falling from His lips; and they were saying, “Is this not Joseph’s son?”
“Their throat is an open grave,With their tongues they keep deceiving,”“The poison of asps is under their lips”;
In the Law it is written, “By men of strange tongues and by the lips of strangers I will speak to this people, and even so they will not listen to Me,” says the Lord.
Through Him then, let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that give thanks to His name.
For,“The one who desires life, to love and see good days,Must keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit.
