'Mighty' in the Bible
because the Mighty Onehas done great things for me,and His name is holy.
He has done a mighty deed with His arm;He has scattered the proudbecause of the thoughts of their hearts;
He has toppled the mighty from their thronesand exalted the lowly.
The God of this people Israel chose our ancestors, exalted the people during their stay in the land of Egypt, and led them out of it with a mighty arm.
quenched the raging of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, gained strength after being weak, became mighty in battle, and put foreign armies to flight.
Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God, so that He may exalt you at the proper time,
I also saw a mighty angel proclaiming in a loud voice, “Who is worthy to open the scroll and break its seals?”
Then I saw another mighty angel coming down from heaven, surrounded by a cloud, with a rainbow over his head. His face was like the sun, his legs were like fiery pillars,
He cried in a mighty voice:It has fallen,Babylon the Great has fallen!She has become a dwelling for demons,a haunt for every unclean spirit,a haunt for every unclean bird,and a haunt for every unclean and despicable beast.
For this reason her plagues will come in one day—death and grief and famine.She will be burned up with fire,because the Lord God who judges her is mighty.
They will stand far off in fear of her torment, saying:Woe, woe, the great city,Babylon, the mighty city!For in a single houryour judgment has come.
Then a mighty angel picked up a stone like a large millstone and threw it into the sea, saying:In this way, Babylon the great citywill be thrown down violentlyand never be found again.
so that you may eat the flesh of kings, the flesh of commanders, the flesh of mighty men, the flesh of horses and of their riders, and the flesh of everyone, both free and slave, small and great.”
