'Prepare' in the Bible
And child, you will be calleda prophet of the Most High,for you will go before the Lordto prepare His ways,
as it is written in the book of the words of the prophet Isaiah:A voice of one crying out in the wilderness:Prepare the way for the Lord;make His paths straight!
This is the one it is written about:Look, I am sending My messengerahead of You;he will prepare Your way before You.
And that slave who knew his master’s will and didn’t prepare himself or do it will be severely beaten.
Instead, will he not tell him, ‘Prepare something for me to eat, get ready, and serve me while I eat and drink; later you can eat and drink’?
Therefore make up your minds not to prepare your defense ahead of time,
