'Road' in the Bible
as it is written in the book of the prophet Isaiah, "The voice of one crying aloud! 'In the Desert prepare ye a road for the Lord: make His highway straight.
Every valley will be filled, and every mountain and hill will be leveled, and the crooked will become straight, and the rough road [will become] smooth,
“The sower went out to sow his seed; and as he sowed, some fell beside the road, and it was trampled under foot and the birds of the air ate it up.
Those beside the road are those who have heard; then the devil comes and takes away the word from their heart, so that they will not believe and be saved.
“Take nothing for the road,” He told them, “no walking stick, no traveling bag, no bread, no money; and don’t take an extra shirt.
As they were traveling on the road someone said to Him, “I will follow You wherever You go!”
Don’t carry a money-bag, traveling bag, or sandals; don’t greet anyone along the road.
A priest happened to be going down that road. When he saw him, he passed by on the other side.
Likewise a Levite also came down to the place and saw him, and passed by on the other side [of the road].
As He drew near Jericho, a blind man was sitting by the road begging.
As He was going along, they were spreading their robes on the road.
As he approached the road leading down from the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of his disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works they had seen:
So they said to each other, “Weren’t our hearts ablaze within us while He was talking with us on the road and explaining the Scriptures to us?”
Then they began to describe what had happened on the road and how He was made known to them in the breaking of the bread.
