'Something' in the Bible
And the man began to pay attention to them, eagerly expecting to receive something from them.
Immediately something like scales fell from Saul’s eyes, and he regained his sight. Then he got up and was baptized;
but he became hungry and wanted something to eat. While the meal was being prepared he fell into a trance;
and he saw the sky opened up, and an object like a great sheet descending, lowered by its four corners to the earth,
“I was in the city of Joppa praying; and in a trance I saw a vision of an object coming down from heaven, like a huge sheet being lowered by the four corners; and [it descended until] it came right down to me,
(Now all the Athenians and the foreigners visiting there used to spend their [leisure] time in nothing other than telling or hearing something new.)
But some in the crowd were shouting one thing and others something else; and since he could not determine the facts because of the uproar, he ordered that Paul be taken to the barracks [in the tower of Antonia].
Just as Paul was about to be taken into the barracks, he asked the commander, “May I say something to you?” And the man replied, “Do you know Greek?
Then Paul, calling in one of the centurions, said, “Take this young man to the commander, for he has something to tell him.”
So he took him and led him to the commander and said, “Paul the prisoner called for me and asked me to bring this young man to you, because he has something to tell you.”
But I have nothing specific about him to write to my lord. So I have brought him before all of you, and especially before you, King Agrippa, so that after the investigation has taken place, I will have something to put in writing.
