'Swallow' in the Bible
O My people! Children are their oppressors,And women rule over them.O My people! Your leaders lead you astrayAnd confuse (destroy, swallow up) the direction of your paths.
And emptied out hath been in its midst the spirit of Egypt. And its counsel I swallow up, And they have sought unto the idols, And unto the charmers, And unto those having familiar spirits, And unto the wizards.
And on this mountain, he will swallow up the burial shroud that enfolds all nations, the veil that is spread over all nations
He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it.
The fading flower of his beautiful splendor,which is on the summit above the rich valley,will be like a ripe fig before the summer harvest.Whoever sees it will swallow itwhile it is still in his hand.
Like a crane or a swallow, so did I chatter: I did mourn as a dove: mine eyes fail with looking upward: O LORD, I am oppressed; undertake for me.
