'Understand' in the Bible

and [if you claim to] know His will and approve the things that are essential or have a sense of what is excellent, based on your instruction from the Law,

Since I am speaking to those who understand law, brothers, are you unaware that the law has authority over someone as long as he lives?

For I do not understand what I am doing, because I do not practice what I want to do, but I do what I hate.

But I ask, “Did Israel not understand?” First, Moses said:I will make you jealousof those who are not a nation;I will make you angry by a nationthat lacks understanding.

But as it is written, To whom he was not spoken of, they shall see: and they that have not heard shall understand.
