'Understand' in the Bible
And he supposed that his brethren understood that God was granting them deliverance through him, but they did not understand.
Philip ran up and heard him reading Isaiah the prophet, and said, “Do you understand what you are reading?”
Opening his mouth, Peter said:“I most certainly understand now that God is not one to show partiality,
And those who were with me saw the light, to be sure, but did not understand the voice of the One who was speaking to me.
And I said, ‘Lord, they themselves understand that in one synagogue after another I used to imprison and beat those who believed in You.
saying,‘Go to this people and say,“You will keep on hearing, but will not understand;And you will keep on seeing, but will not perceive;
For the heart of this people has become dull,And with their ears they scarcely hear,And they have closed their eyes;Otherwise they might see with their eyes,And hear with their ears,And understand with their heart and return,And I would heal them.”’
