'Wandering' in the Bible

A man found him there, wandering in the field, and asked him, “What are you looking for?”

Pharaoh will say of the Israelites: They are wandering around the land in confusion; the wilderness has boxed them in.

You are to respond by saying in the presence of the Lord your God:My father was a wandering Aramean. He went down to Egypt with a few people and lived there. There he became a great, powerful, and populous nation.

wandering from nation to nationand from one kingdom to another,

A man wandering from his homeis like a bird wandering from its nest.

Better what the eyes see than wandering desire. This too is futile and a pursuit of the wind.

Like wandering gazellesand like sheep without a shepherd,each one will turn to his own people,each one will flee to his own land.

Then you will say within yourself,‘Who fathered these for me?I was deprived of my children and unable to conceive,exiled and wandering—but who brought them up?See, I was left by myself—but these, where did they come from?’”

wild waves of the sea, foaming up their shameful deeds; wandering stars for whom the blackness of darkness is reserved forever!
