'Wanting' in the Bible
While Jesus was still speaking to the crowds, his mother and brothers stood outside, wanting to speak to him.
Jesus left that place and went to the territory of Tyre and Sidon. He went into a house, not wanting anyone to know he was there. However, it couldn't be kept a secret.
So Pilate, wanting to satisfy the crowd, released Barabbas for them, but he had Jesus whipped and handed over to be crucified.
Others, wanting to test Jesus, kept asking him for a sign from heaven.
Now Herod was very glad to see Jesus, because he had been wanting to see him for a long time on account of what he had heard about him. He was also hoping to see some sign done by him.
Some of them were wanting to seize him, but no one laid hands on him.
Then Festus, wanting to do the Jewish leaders a favor, asked Paul, "Are you willing to go up to Jerusalem to be tried there before me on these charges?"
