'Wind' in the Bible
As these men were going away, Jesus began to speak to the crowds about John, “What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken by the wind?
But the boat was already a long distance from the land, battered by the waves; for the wind was contrary.
But seeing the wind, he became frightened, and beginning to sink, he cried out, “Lord, save me!”
And there *arose a fierce gale of wind, and the waves were breaking over the boat so much that the boat was already filling up.
And He got up and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Hush, be still.” And the wind died down and it became perfectly calm.
They became very much afraid and said to one another, “Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey Him?”
Seeing them straining at the oars, for the wind was against them, at about the fourth watch of the night He *came to them, walking on the sea; and He intended to pass by them.
Then He got into the boat with them, and the wind stopped; and they were utterly astonished,
When the messengers of John had left, He began to speak to the crowds about John, “What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken by the wind?
But as they were sailing along He fell asleep; and a fierce gale of wind descended on the lake, and they began to be swamped and to be in danger.
They came to Jesus and woke Him up, saying, “Master, Master, we are perishing!” And He got up and rebuked the wind and the surging waves, and they stopped, and it became calm.
And when you see a south wind blowing, you say, ‘It will be a hot day,’ and it turns out that way.
The wind blows where it wishes and you hear the sound of it, but do not know where it comes from and where it is going; so is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”
The sea began to be stirred up because a strong wind was blowing.
And suddenly there came from heaven a noise like a violent rushing wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting.
When we had sailed slowly for a good many days, and with difficulty had arrived off Cnidus, since the wind did not permit us to go farther, we sailed under the shelter of Crete, off Salmone;
When a moderate south wind came up, supposing that they had attained their purpose, they weighed anchor and began sailing along Crete, close inshore.
But before very long there rushed down from the land a violent wind, called Euraquilo;
and when the ship was caught in it and could not face the wind, we gave way to it and let ourselves be driven along.
And casting off the anchors, they left them in the sea while at the same time they were loosening the ropes of the rudders; and hoisting the foresail to the wind, they were heading for the beach.
From there we sailed around and arrived at Rhegium, and a day later a south wind sprang up, and on the second day we came to Puteoli.

For the sun rises with a scorching wind and withers the grass; and its flower falls off and the beauty of its appearance is destroyed; so too the rich man in the midst of his pursuits will fade away.
and the stars of the sky fell to the earth, as a fig tree casts its unripe figs when shaken by a great wind.
After this I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding back the four winds of the earth, so that no wind would blow on the earth or on the sea or on any tree.
