'Wrong' in the Bible
“He replied to one of them, ‘Friend, I’m doing you no wrong. Didn’t you agree with me on a denarius?
Then he said, “Why? What has He done wrong?”But they kept shouting, “Crucify Him!” all the more.
Then Pilate said to them, “Why? What has He done wrong?”But they shouted, “Crucify Him!” all the more.
A third time he said to them, “Why? What has this man done wrong? I have found in Him no grounds for the death penalty. Therefore, I will have Him whipped and then release Him.”
We are punished justly, because we’re getting back what we deserve for the things we did, but this man has done nothing wrong.”
“If I have spoken wrongly,” Jesus answered him, “give evidence about the wrong; but if rightly, why do you hit Me?”
“Therefore,” he said, “let the men of authority among you go down with me and accuse him, if there is any wrong in this man.”
But Paul said: “I am standing at Caesar’s tribunal, where I ought to be tried. I have done no wrong to the Jews, as even you can see very well.
If then I am doing wrong, or have done anything deserving of death, I do not refuse to die, but if there is nothing to what these men accuse me of, no one can give me up to them. I appeal to Caesar!”
And because they did not think it worthwhile to acknowledge God, God delivered them over to a worthless mind to do what is morally wrong.
For government is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, because it does not carry the sword for no reason. For government is God’s servant, an avenger that brings wrath on the one who does wrong.
Love does no wrong to a neighbor. Love, therefore, is the fulfillment of the law.
Do not tear down God’s work because of food. Everything is clean, but it is wrong for a man to cause stumbling by what he eats.
So even though I wrote to you, it was not because of the one who did wrong, or because of the one who was wronged, but in order that your diligence for us might be made plain to you in the sight of God.
So in what way were you treated worse than the other churches, except that I personally did not burden you? Forgive me this wrong!
Now we pray to God that you do nothing wrong—not that we may appear to pass the test, but that you may do what is right, even though we may appear to fail.
For the wrongdoer will be paid back for whatever wrong he has done, and there is no favoritism. >
