So when they were now assembled Pilate appealed to them. "Whom shall I release to you," he said, "Barabbas, or Jesus the so-called Christ?"

Now while he was on the bench his wife sent to him to say, "Do not have anything to do with that upright man, for I have just had a painful experience in a dream about him."

Now the chief priests and the elders persuaded the multitudes that they should ask for Barabbas, and destroy Jesus.

Now when Pilate saw that instead of him doing any good a riot was rising, he took some water and washed his hands in presence of the crowd, saying, "I am innocent of this good man's blood. It is your affair!"

And Pilate said to them, Ye have a watch: go, secure it as well as ye know how.

Now there had been a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord had descended from heaven and, [having] come to roll away the stone, was [now] sitting on it.

then go quickly and tell His disciples, 'He has risen from the dead and is [now] going on ahead of you into Galilee. You will see Him there.' Now [that is all] I have to tell you."

Then said Jesus to them, Have no fear: go and give word to my brothers to go into Galilee, and there they will see me.

Now when they were going, behold, some of the watch came into the city, and shewed unto the chief priests all the things that were done.

"If this comes to the ears of the governor," they added, "we will satisfy him and see that you have no trouble about the matter."

Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had designated.

Now He entered the synagogue again, and a man was there who had a paralyzed hand.

But no sooner had the Pharisees left the synagogue than they held a consultation with the Herodians against Jesus, to devise some means of destroying Him.

Now Jesus went up the mountain and called for those he wanted, and they came to him.

And He went into a house. But again the crowd assembled, so that there was no opportunity for them even to snatch a meal.

and if Satan has revolted against himself, and is divided, he cannot stand. Nay, he meets his end!

but whosoever shall speak injuriously against the Holy Spirit, to eternity has no forgiveness; but lies under the guilt of an everlasting sin;

Now a crowd was sitting round Him; so they tell Him, "Your mother and your brothers and sisters are outside, inquiring for you."

And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full.

And He got up and [sternly] rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Hush, be still (muzzled)!” And the wind died down [as if it had grown weary] and there was [at once] a great calm [a perfect peacefulness].

and he had no sooner stepped out of the boat, than a man out of the tombs came to meet him, a man with an unclean spirit,
