And there is a word of Jehovah unto me, saying,

"Now as for you, Son of Man, grab a stick of wood for yourself and write on it these words: "FOR JUDAH AND THE ISRAELIS, HIS COMPANIONS' "Then grab another stick and write on it: "FOR JOSEPH, THE STICK OF EPHRAIM, AND ALL THE HOUSE OF ISRAEL, HIS COMPANIONS'

And join them one to [the] other with respect to you [as] one [piece of] wood, so that they may become one in your hand.

And when the children of thy people shall speak unto thee, saying, Wilt thou not shew us what thou meanest by these?

Say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will take the stick of Joseph, which is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel his fellows, and will put them with him, even with the stick of Judah, and make them one stick, and they shall be one in mine hand.

tell them: This is what the Lord God says: I am going to take the Israelites out of the nations where they have gone. I will gather them from all around and bring them into their own land.

And I have made them become one nation in the land, on mountains of Israel, And one king is to them all for king, And they are no more as two nations, Nor are they divided any more into two kingdoms again.

And they will not defile themselves again with their idols and with vile idols and with all of their transgressions, and I will save them from all of their apostasy {by which they sinned}, and I will cleanse them and they will be for me as a people and I, I will be for them as God.

And My servant David is king over them, And one shepherd have they all, And in My judgments they go, And My statutes they keep, and have done them.

And they have dwelt on the land that I gave to My servant, to Jacob, In which your fathers have dwelt, And they have dwelt on it, they and their sons, And their son's sons -- unto the age, And David My servant is their prince -- to the age.

And I have made to them a covenant of peace, A covenant age-during it is with them, And I have placed them, and multiplied them, And placed My sanctuary in their midst -- to the age.

And my tabernacle will be with them, and I will be for them as God, and they will be to me as a nation.

Then the nations will know [without any doubt] that I am the Lord who sets apart and sanctifies Israel [for holy use], when My sanctuary is in their midst forever.”’”

And there is a word of Jehovah unto me, saying:

"Thou son of man, turn thy face toward Gog in the land of Magog, which is the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal: prophesy against him,

and say: This is what the Lord God says: Look, I am against you, Gog, chief prince of Meshech and Tubal.

Be ready, and prepare {yourselves}, you and all of your assembly, the assembling around you, and you must be for them as a guard.

After many days thou shalt be visited: in the latter years thou shalt come into the land that is brought back from the sword, and is gathered out of many people, against the mountains of Israel, which have been always waste: but it is brought forth out of the nations, and they shall dwell safely all of them.

And thou hast gone up -- as wasting thou comest in, As a cloud to cover the land art thou, Thou and all thy bands, and many peoples with thee.

“This is what the Lord God says: On that day, thoughts will arise in your mind, and you will devise an evil plan.

and boasting, "I'm going to invade a land comprised of open country that is at rest, its people living confidently, all of whose inhabitants will be living securely, with neither fortification nor bars on their doors.

to spoil them, to rob them, to lay hand upon their so well inhabited wildernesses: against that people, that is gathered together from among the Heathen, which have gotten cattle and good, and dwell in the midst of the land.'

“Therefore prophesy, son of man, and say to Gog: This is what the Lord God says: On that day when My people Israel are dwelling securely, will you not know this

and shalt come from thy place out of the north parts: thou and much people with thee, which ride upon horses, whereof there is a great multitude and an innumerable sortie.

And thou shalt come up against my people of Israel, as a cloud to cover the land; it shall be in the latter days, and I will bring thee against my land, that the heathen may know me, when I shall be sanctified in thee, O Gog, before their eyes.

“This is what the Lord God says: Are you the one I spoke about in former times through My servants, the prophets of Israel, who for years prophesied in those times that I would bring you against them?

Now on that day, the day when Gog comes against the land of Israel”—this is the declaration of the Lord God—“My wrath will flare up.

And in My zeal, in the fire of My wrath, I have spoken: Is there not in that day a great rushing on the land of Israel?

And rushed from My presence have fishes of the sea, And the fowl of the heavens, And the beast of the field, And every creeping thing that is creeping on the ground, And all men who are on the face of the ground, And thrown down have been the mountains, And fallen have the ascents, And every wall to the earth falleth.

And I have called against him, to all My mountains a sword, An affirmation of the Lord Jehovah, The sword of each is against his brother.

I will execute judgment on him with plague and bloodshed. I will pour out torrential rain, hailstones, fire, and brimstone on him, as well as his troops and the many peoples who are with him.

“As for you, son of man, prophesy against Gog and say: This is what the Lord God says: Look, I am against you, Gog, chief prince of Meshech and Tubal.

As for thy bow, I will smite it out of thy left hand, and cast thine arrows out of thy righthand.

Thou shalt fall upon the mountains of Israel, thou, and all thy bands, and the people that is with thee: I will give thee unto the ravenous birds of every sort, and to the beasts of the field to be devoured.

You will fall on the open field, for I have spoken.” This is the declaration of the Lord God.

Behold, it is come, and it is done, saith the Lord GOD; this is the day whereof I have spoken.

And [when you, Gog, no longer exist] those who live in the cities of Israel will go out and make fires with the weapons and burn them, both the [large] shields and the bucklers (small shields), the bows and the arrows, the war clubs and the spears; and for seven years they will burn them.

They will not gather wood from the countryside or cut it down from the forests, for they will use the weapons to make fires. They will take the loot from those who looted them and plunder those who plundered them.” This is the declaration of the Lord God.

And it hath come to pass, in that day, I give to Gog a place there -- a grave in Israel, the valley of those passing by, east of the sea, and it is stopping those passing by, and they have buried there Gog, and all his multitude, and have cried, O valley of the multitude of Gog!

And the children of Israel will be seven months putting them in the earth, so as to make the land clean.

All the people of the land will bury them and their fame will spread on the day I display My glory.” This is the declaration of the Lord God.

"Men will be assigned to travel continuously throughout the land, exploring for seven full months as they go about burying the bodies that remain from the battle on the surface of the ground, so that the land may be sterilized.

As those who pass through the land pass through and anyone sees a human bone, he will set up a marker beside it, until the buriers have buried it in the Valley of Hamon-gog.

And also the name of the city is The multitude; and they have cleansed the land.

“Son of man, this is what the Lord God says: Tell every kind of bird and all the wild animals: Assemble and come! Gather from all around to My sacrificial feast that I am slaughtering for you, a great feast on the mountains of Israel; you will eat flesh and drink blood.

You'll eat the flesh of mighty men and drink the blood of the world's princes, drinking the blood of these rams, lambs, goats, bulls, all of them fattened as if they're from Bashan, fit for slaughter!

At My table you will eat your fill of horses and riders, of mighty men and all the warriors.” This is the declaration of the Lord God.

The nations will also learn that because of Israel's sin the house of Israel went into captivity, since they were unfaithful in their behavior toward me. As a result, I hid my presence from them, turned them over to the control of their enemies, and they died by violence.

“So this is what the Lord God says: Now I will restore the fortunes of Jacob and have compassion on the whole house of Israel, and I will be jealous for My holy name.

They will forget their disgrace and all their treachery (unfaithfulness) which they perpetuated against Me, when they live securely in their own land and there is no one who makes them afraid.

And they will be certain that I am the Lord their God, because I sent them away as prisoners among the nations, and have taken them together back to their land; and I have not let one of them be there any longer.

I will no longer hide My face from them, for I will pour out My Spirit on the house of Israel.” This is the declaration of the Lord God.

In the twenty fifth year of our captivity, in the beginning of the year, the tenth day of the month - that is, the fourteenth year, after that the city was smitten down - the same day came the hand of the LORD upon me, and carried me forth:

In the visions of God brought he me into the land of Israel, and set me upon a very high mountain, by which was as the frame of a city on the south.

And he brought me thither, and, behold, there was a man, whose appearance was like the appearance of brass, with a line of flax in his hand, and a measuring reed; and he stood in the gate.

This is what the man told me: "Son of Man, watch carefully, listen closely, and remember everything I'm going to be showing you, because you've been brought here to be shown what you're about to see. Be sure that you tell the house of Israel everything that you observe."

And there was a wall on [the] outside of the temple {all the way around it}, and in the hand of the man the reed for measurement [was] six [long] cubits, {according to} the cubit and a handbreadth, and he measured the width of the outer wall [as] one reed, and [the] height [as] one reed.

And he cometh in unto the gate whose front is eastward, and he goeth up by its steps, and he measureth the threshold of the gate one reed broad, even the one threshold one reed broad,

And [then] he measured the portico of the gate {on the inside} [as] one reed.

And he measured the portico of the gate [as] eight cubits, and its pilaster [was] two cubits [thick], and [he measured] the portico of the gate {on the inside}.

and the little chambers of the gate eastward, three on this side, and three on that side; one measure is to them three, and one measure is to the posts, on this side and on that side.

And he measured the width of the doorway of the gate [as] ten cubits and the length of the gateway [was] thirteen cubits.

and a border before the little chambers, one cubit, and one cubit is the border on this side, and the little chamber is six cubits on this side, and six cubits on that side.

And he measured the gate from the top slab of the alcove to its [opposite] top slab [as] twenty-five cubits [in] width, {from one entrance to the other one opposite it}.

The chambers and the pillars within, round about unto the door, had side windows: So had the fore entries also, whose windows went round about within. And upon the pillars there stood date trees.

and the pavement unto the side of the gates over-against the length of the gates is the lower pavement;

And he measured [the width] from {the front of} the lower gate to {the front of} the outside of [the] inner courtyard [as] a hundred cubits to the east and to the north.

And the gate of the outer court whose prospect is toward the north, he measured the length thereof and the breadth thereof.

Its guardrooms, three on each side, and its side pillars and its porches had the same measurement as the first gate. Its length was fifty cubits and the width was twenty-five cubits.

And the windows thereof, and the arches thereof, and the palm-trees thereof, were after the measure of the gate whose prospect is toward the east; and they went up unto it by seven steps; and the arches thereof were before them.

And the gate of the inner court is over-against the gate at the north and at the east; and he measureth from gate unto gate, a hundred cubits.

Then he led me toward the south, and behold, there was a gate toward the south; and he measured its side pillars and its porches, and they measured the same as the others.

And windows to it, and to its porch round about, round about, as those windows: fifty cubits the length, and the breadth, five and twenty cubits.

and the gate of the inner court is southward, and he measureth from gate unto gate southward, a hundred cubits.

Then the man (angel) brought me to the inner courtyard by the south gate; and he measured the south gate according to those same measurements.

Its guardrooms also, its side pillars and its porches measured the same as the others. And the gate and its porches had windows all around; the length was fifty cubits and the width was twenty-five cubits.

As to the arches all round about, the length is five and twenty cubits, and the breadth five cubits;

He brought me into the inner courtyard toward the east, and he measured the gate; it measured the same as the others.

Its guardrooms also, its side pillars and its porches measured the same as the others. The gate and its porches had windows all around; it was fifty cubits long and twenty-five cubits wide.

And its porticos [were] toward the outer courtyard, and palm tree images [were] on its pilasters {one each side}, and {eight steps served as it stairs}.

Then he brought me to the north gate and he measured it; the measurements were the same as those of the other gates,

with its guardrooms, its side pillars, its porches; and the gate had windows all around. The length was fifty cubits and the width was twenty-five cubits.

And its pilasters {faced the outer courtyard}, and {it had palm tree images on its pilasters} {on each side}; and eight steps [served as] its stairs.

And the chamber and its opening is by the posts of the gates, there they purge the burnt-offering.

And at the side without, as one goeth up to the entry of the north gate, were two tables; and on the other side, which was at the porch of the gate, were two tables.

In that way, there were four tables on each side in front of the gate, for a total of eight tables for use in slaughtering the offerings.

And the boundaries are one handbreadth, prepared within all round about: and on the tables is the flesh of the offering.

And he said unto me, This chamber, whose prospect is toward the south, is for the priests, the keepers of the charge of the house.

And the chamber whose prospect is toward the north is for the priests, the keepers of the charge of the altar: these are the sons of Zadok among the sons of Levi, which come near to the LORD to minister unto him.

And he measureth the court: the length a hundred cubits, and the breadth a hundred cubits, square, and the altar is before the house.

Then he brought me to the porch of the temple and measured the jambs of the porch as 8? feet on either side, and the width of the gate was 24? feet and the sides were 5? feet on each side.

The length of the porch was twenty cubits and the width eleven cubits; and at the stairway by which it was ascended, there were [two] columns beside the side pillars, one on each side [of the entrance].

And the breadth of the opening is ten cubits; and the sides of the opening are five cubits on this side, and five cubits on that side; and he measureth its length forty cubits, and the breadth twenty cubits.

And he went into [the] inner [room], and he measured the pilaster of the doorway [as] two cubits and the doorway [as] six cubits and the width of the doorway seven cubits.

So he measured the length thereof, twenty cubits; and the breadth, twenty cubits, before the temple: and he said unto me, This is the most holy place.

And he measured the wall of the temple [as] six cubits, and the width of the side room [as] four cubits {all along the outside wall for the temple all around the wall}.

The side rooms were arranged one above another in three stories of 30 rooms each. There were ledges on the wall of the temple all around to serve as supports for the side rooms, so that the supports would not be in the temple wall itself.

And the side-chambers were broader as they encompassed the house higher and higher; for the encompassing of the house went higher and higher round about the house: therefore the breadth of the house continued upward; and so one went up from the lowest chamber to the highest by the middle chamber .

I saw also that the house was very high round about. The foundation of the side chambers was one measuring rod, that is, six cubits broad.

The thickness of the wall, which was for the side-chambers without, was five cubits, as also what was left free along the building of the side-chambers that pertained to the house.
