Behold, a Canaanite woman came out from those borders, and cried, saying, "Have mercy on me, Lord, you son of David! My daughter is severely demonized!"


and saying, "Lord, my servant lies in the house paralyzed, grievously tormented."


He said to them, "Which of you, if you go to a friend at midnight, and tell him, 'Friend, lend me three loaves of bread, for a friend of mine has come to me from a journey, and I have nothing to set before him,'


But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she came up to him, and said, "Lord, don't you care that my sister left me to serve alone? Ask her therefore to help me."



Another also said, "I want to follow you, Lord, but first allow me to say good-bye to those who are at my house."


But he lingered; and the men grabbed his hand, his wife's hand, and his two daughters' hands, Yahweh being merciful to him; and they took him out, and set him outside of the city.


As he reasoned about righteousness, self-control, and the judgment to come, Felix was terrified, and answered, "Go your way for this time, and when it is convenient for me, I will summon you."


Now when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked; but others said, "We want to hear you again concerning this."


each man's work will be revealed. For the Day will declare it, because it is revealed in fire; and the fire itself will test what sort of work each man's work is.

If any man's work is burned, he will suffer loss, but he himself will be saved, but as through fire.


You ought therefore to have deposited my money with the bankers, and at my coming I should have received back my own with interest. Take away therefore the talent from him, and give it to him who has the ten talents.

For to everyone who has will be given, and he will have abundance, but from him who doesn't have, even that which he has will be taken away.

Like one who grabs a dog's ears is one who passes by and meddles in a quarrel not his own.


Don't be hasty in bringing charges to court. What will you do in the end when your neighbor shames you?


But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your heart, don't boast and don't lie against the truth.

Don't strive with a man without cause, if he has done you no harm.



For I am afraid that by any means, when I come, I might find you not the way I want to, and that I might be found by you as you don't desire; that by any means there would be strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, factions, slander, whisperings, proud thoughts, riots;

For it has been reported to me concerning you, my brothers, by those who are from Chloe's household, that there are contentions among you.


But brother goes to law with brother, and that before unbelievers!

The herdsmen of Gerar argued with Isaac's herdsmen, saying, "The water is ours." He called the name of the well Esek, because they contended with him.

There was a strife between the herdsmen of Abram's livestock and the herdsmen of Lot's livestock: and the Canaanite and the Perizzite lived in the land at that time.

A great clamor arose, and some of the scribes of the Pharisees part stood up, and contended, saying, "We find no evil in this man. But if a spirit or angel has spoken to him, let's not fight against God!"

How can I myself alone bear your encumbrance, and your burden, and your strife?


They were broken in pieces, nation against nation, and city against city; for God troubled them with all adversity.

Don't let your heart faint, neither fear for the news that shall be heard in the land; for news shall come one year, and after that in another year [shall come] news, and violence in the land, ruler against ruler.

"When you hear of wars and rumors of wars, don't be troubled. For those must happen, but the end is not yet.

Then he said to them, "Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be great earthquakes, famines, and plagues in various places. There will be terrors and great signs from heaven.


he is conceited, knowing nothing, but obsessed with arguments, disputes, and word battles, from which come envy, strife, insulting, evil suspicions,



As coals are to hot embers, and wood to fire, so is a contentious man to kindling strife.








Don't let those who wait for you be shamed through me, Lord Yahweh of Armies. Don't let those who seek you be brought to dishonor through me, God of Israel.
