And when he had given thanks, he broke it, and said, Take and eat. This represents (is) my body, which is broken for you. Do this in remembrance of me.


For as often as you eat this bread, and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death till he comes.





Moses called all the elders of Israel and said: Take lambs according to your families and slay the Passover lamb. Take a bunch of hyssop and dip it in the blood that is in the basin. Apply some of the blood that is in the basin to the lintel and the two doorposts. No one shall go outside the door of his house until morning. Jehovah will pass through to strike the Egyptians. You shall observe this event as an ordinance for you and your children from generation to generation. When you enter the land Jehovah will give you, as he has promised, you shall observe this rite. When your children ask you: What does this rite mean to you? You shall say: 'It is a Passover sacrifice to Jehovah who passed over the houses of the sons of Israel in Egypt when He killed the Egyptians, but spared our homes. The people bowed low and worshiped.' Then the sons of Israel did just as Jehovah had commanded Moses and Aaron.

Purge out the old leaven, that you may be a new batch of dough. For even Christ our Passover has been sacrificed for us. Therefore let us celebrate the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

Then he took a cup and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying: Drink it all.


As they were eating, Jesus took bread, blessed, and broke it; and he gave to the disciples. Then he said: Take, eat; this is (represents) (means) (exemplifies) my body.

For I received from the Lord that which I delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread.





Whoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of [sinning against] (falsely representing) the body and blood of the Lord.


For he that eats and drinks unworthily, eats and drinks damnation to himself, not discerning (not judging rightly) the Lord's body.


For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.

You cannot drink the cup of Jehovah and the cup of demons. You cannot be partakers of the Jehovah's Table and of the table of demons. (Malachi 1:12)
