Man's days are determined. You have decreed the number of his months and have set limits he cannot exceed.
The day and the night are yours. You have prepared the light and the sun. You have set all the boundaries of the earth. You have made summer and winter.
Your eyes saw my embryo and all were written in your book; the days ordained for me. Even this before one had taken place.
From one person he made every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth. He determined their appointed seasons, and the bounds of their habitation.
I tell you there will be an account in the Judgment Day for every careless word that men say.
You have spent enough time in the past doing what unbelievers like to do. Your lives were spent in indecency, lusts, drunkenness, orgies, drinking parties, and the disgusting worship of idols (false gods). They think it strange that you do not run with them in wild and reckless living and they speak evil about you. They will give account to him that is ready to judge the living and the dead.
You have spent enough time in the past doing what unbelievers like to do. Your lives were spent in indecency, lusts, drunkenness, orgies, drinking parties, and the disgusting worship of idols (false gods).
I will make up to you the years that the locust has eaten, my great army that I sent among you.
You once walked according to the course of this world, according to the ruler of the power (authority and jurisdiction) of the air, the spirit that is now active in the sons of disobedience. We all once lived in the lust of our flesh, indulging the desires (lusts) of the flesh and of the mind. We were by nature children of anger and violent passion, like everyone else.
Make your members that are upon the earth dead with regard to fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness (greed), which is idolatry. Because of such things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. You once walked in these when you lived in them.
The lazy man will not plow because of the cold. He will beg during harvest and have nothing.
Later the other virgins came, saying: 'Lord, Lord, open to us.' But he told them: 'I do not know you.'
The master of the house will close the door. You stand outside and knock on the door and say: 'Open the door for us, sir!' He will answer: 'I do not know where you come from!'
They will knock you and your children down to the ground. They will not leave one stone upon another. What's more you do not know when this visit will take place.
He reasoned about righteousness, temperance, and judgment to come. Felix trembled, and answered: Go your way for now. When I have time I will send for you.

Come now, you that say, Today or tomorrow we will go to this city, and spend a year there, and trade, and make profit. You do not know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? For you are a vapor (puff of air) that appears for a little while and then vanishes away. You should say, If God wills, we should both live, and do this or that.
For this reason let all godly people pray to you when you may be found. Then raging floodwater will not reach them.
From that time on Jesus preached this message: Repent for the Kingdom of heaven is near.
Jesus said: The time has come. The kingdom of God is at hand. Repent and believe the good news.
Working together with him we plead with you not to receive the grace of God in vain (to no purpose) (in emptiness). For he said: At an acceptable time I listened to you. In a day of salvation I helped you. Behold, now is the acceptable time; behold, now is the day of salvation!
So then, as we have opportunity, let us work that which is good toward all men, and especially toward those who are of the household of the faith.
The Holy Spirit says: Today if you will hear his voice, do not harden your hearts and be stubborn like those who tested me in the day of temptation in the wilderness. Your forefathers examined (inspected) (scrutinized) me by proving (testing) me. And they saw my works for forty years.read more.
I was disgusted (angry) with this generation, and said: 'They always go astray in their hearts, and they have not known my ways.' So I swore in my anger: 'They will not enter into my rest.' They bring their complaints to me. I make decisions on the basis of God's laws. Jethro replied: That is not a good way to do it. You and your people will wear yourselves out. This is too much work for you. You cannot do it alone! Listen to the advice I give you. May God be with you! You must be the people's representative to God and bring their disagreements to him. You must instruct them in the laws and the teachings. Show them how to live and tell them what to do. You should choose capable men from all the people. Find men who respect God. These must be men you can trust who hate corruption. Put them in charge of groups of thousands, hundreds, fifties and tens. They must be the ones who usually settle disagreements among the people. They should bring all-important cases to you. But they should settle all minor cases themselves. Make it easier for yourself by letting them help you. If you do this, as God commands, you will not wear yourself out. All these people can go home with their disputes settled. Moses took Jethro's advice and chose capable men from among all the Israelites. He appointed them as leaders of thousands, hundreds, fifties, and tens. They judged the people on a permanent basis. The difficult cases were taken to Moses but they decided the smaller disputes themselves.
The number of disciples increased at that time. A murmuring arose on the part of the Grecians against the Hebrews, because their widows were neglected in the daily distribution. The twelve called the congregation of the disciples to them. They said: It would not be right for us to neglect the ministry of the word of God and serve tables. Therefore brothers select seven men who have a good reputation. Men who are full of spirit and wisdom that we may appoint to take care of this business.read more.
We will give our attention to prayer and the ministry of the word.
Tremble, stand in awe and do not sin! Meditate in your heart upon your bed, and keep silent.

Remember the Sabbath day and keep it holy. You have six days to do all your work. The seventh day is a Sabbath dedicated to Jehovah your God. Do not do any work, you or your son or your daughter, your male or your female servant or your cattle or your sojourner who stays with you.
The following regulations are to be observed for a long lasting time to come. On the tenth day of the seventh month the Israelites and the foreigners living among them must fast and must not do any work.

Seek (desire) (require) (serve) first the kingdom of God and his righteousness [continuously] and all these things will be added to you.
Paul and Barnabas became very bold, and said: It was necessary that the Word of God should first be spoken to you. But seeing you reject it you judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life!
