Howbeit, the LORD would not destroy the house of David, because of the covenant that he had made with David, as he promised to give a light to him and to his sons forever.

My mercy will I keep for him for evermore, and my covenant shall stand fast with him. His seed also will I make to endure forever, and his throne as the days of heaven. But if his children forsake my law, and walk not in my judgments, if they break my statutes, and keep not my commandments, I will visit their offenses with the rod, and their sins with scourges. Nevertheless, my loving-kindness will I not utterly take from him, nor suffer my truth to fail. My covenant will I not break, nor disannull the thing that is gone out of my lips. I have sworn once by my holiness, that I will not fail David. His seed shall endure forever, and his throne is like as the sun before me. He shall stand fast for evermore as the moon, and as the faithful witness in heaven." Selah.

And in mercy shall the throne be prepared, and he shall sit upon it in the truth, in the tabernacle of David: judging, and seeking judgment, and making haste unto righteousness.

When this time was past, I, Nebuchadnezzar, lift up mine eyes unto heaven, and mine understanding was restored unto me again. Then gave I thanks to the highest. I magnified and praised him that liveth for evermore, whose power endureth alway, and his kingdom from one generation to another:
O how great are his tokens, and how mighty are his wonders? His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and his power lasteth for ever and ever.

Then will I make a covenant with them, with the wild beasts, with the fowls of the air, and with everything that creepeth upon the earth. As for bow, sword and battle, I will destroy such out of the land, and will make them to sleep safely.
I will root out the chariots from Ephraim and the horse from Jerusalem, the battle bows shall be destroyed. He shall give the doctrine of peace unto the Heathen, and his dominion shall be from the one sea to the other, and from the floods to the ends of the world.
