Contentiousness » The contentious spirit
Transgression loves him that loves strife, and he that exalts his gate seeks destruction.
A wrathful man stirs up strife, but he that is slow to anger appeases strife.
Charcoal for burning coals and wood for fire, and a contentious man to kindle strife.
I am for peace; but when I speak, they are for war.
Who devise evil in their heart; they are continually gathered together for war.
A fool's lips enter into contention, and his mouth calls for strokes.
Why dost thou cause me to see iniquity and cause me to behold grievance and destruction and violence before me, in addition to those that raise up strife and contention?
