Thematic Bible: Revelations by

Thematic Bible

"In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on everyone. Your sons and your daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams.

Then he told the two of them: "Pay attention to what I have to say! When there is a prophet among you, won't I, the LORD, reveal myself to him in a vision? Won't I speak with him in a dream?

Let the prophet who has a dream relate the dream, but let whoever receives my message speak my message truthfully. What does straw have in common with wheat?" declares the LORD.

"Then it will come about at a later time that I will pour out my Spirit on every person. Your sons and your daughters will prophesy. Your elderly people will dream dreams, and your young people will see visions.

Jesus answered them, "Destroy this sanctuary, and in three days I will rebuild it."

Then Jesus said, "Leave her alone so she can observe the day of my burial,

Listen, the time is coming, indeed it has already come, when you will be scattered, each of you to his own home, and you will leave me all by myself. Yet I'm not alone, because the Father is with me.

"See, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be handed over to the high priests and scribes, and they will condemn him to death. Then they will hand him over to unbelievers to be mocked, whipped, and crucified, but on the third day he will be raised."

But he replied to them, "An evil and adulterous generation craves a sign. Yet no sign will be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah, because just as Jonah was in the stomach of the sea creature for three days and three nights, so the Son of Man will be in the heart of the earth for three days and three nights.

While they were gathering together in Galilee, Jesus told them, "The Son of Man is going to be betrayed into human hands. They will kill him, but he will be raised on the third day." Then they were filled with grief.

"You know that the Passover will take place in two days, and the Son of Man will be handed over to be crucified."

While they were eating, he said, "I tell all of you with certainty, one of you is going to betray me."

He replied, "The man who has dipped his hand into the bowl with me will betray me. The Son of Man is going away, just as it has been written about him. How terrible it will be for that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would have been better for him if he had never been born."

Then he came back to the disciples and told them, "You might as well keep on sleeping and resting. Look! The time is near for the Son of Man to be betrayed into the hands of sinners. Get up! Let's go! See, the one who is betraying me is near!"

because he was teaching his disciples, "The Son of Man will be betrayed into human hands. They will kill him, but after being dead for three days he will be raised."

Now Jesus and his disciples had been on the road going up to Jerusalem, with Jesus walking ahead of them. They were astonished, and the others who followed were afraid. Once again, Jesus took the Twelve aside and began to tell them what was going to happen to him. "Pay attention! We're going up to Jerusalem. The Son of Man will be handed over to the high priests and the scribes, and they'll condemn him to death. Then they'll hand him over to the unbelievers, and they'll make fun of him, spit on him, whip him, and kill him. But after three days he'll be raised."

He said, "The Son of Man must suffer a great deal and be rejected by the elders, the high priests, and the scribes. Then he must be killed, but on the third day he will be raised." Then he told all of them, "If anyone wants to come with me, he must deny himself, pick up his cross every day, and follow me continuously, because whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it.

Jesus took the Twelve aside and told them, "Pay attention! We're going up to Jerusalem. Everything written by the prophets about the Son of Man will be fulfilled, because he'll be handed over to the unbelievers, and will be mocked, insulted, and spit on. After they have whipped him, they'll kill him, but on the third day he'll rise again."

I'm not talking about all of you. I know the ones I have chosen. But the Scripture must be fulfilled: "The one who ate bread with me has turned against me.' I'm telling you this now, before it happens, so that when it does happen, you may believe that I AM. Truly, I tell all of you emphatically, the one who receives whomever I send receives me, and the one who receives me receives the one who sent me." read more.
After saying this, Jesus was deeply troubled in spirit and declared solemnly, "Truly, I tell all of you emphatically, one of you is going to betray me!" The disciples began looking at one another, completely mystified about whom he was speaking. One of his disciples, the one whom Jesus kept loving, had been sitting very close to him. So Simon Peter motioned to this man to ask Jesus about whom he was speaking. Leaning forward on Jesus' chest, he asked him, "Lord, who is it?" Jesus answered, "He is the one to whom I will give this piece of bread after I have dipped it in the dish." Then he took a piece of bread, dipped it, and gave it to Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot. After he had taken the piece of bread, Satan entered him. Then Jesus told him, "Do quickly what you are going to do!"

Simon Peter asked him, "Lord, where are you going?" Jesus answered him, "I'm going where you cannot follow me now, though you will follow me later on." "Lord, why can't I follow you now?" Peter asked him. "I would lay down my life for you!" Jesus answered him, "Would you lay down your life for me? I tell you emphatically, a rooster will not crow until you have denied me three times."

For in the recent past Theudas appeared, claiming that he was important, and about 400 men joined him. He was killed, and all his followers were dispersed and disappeared. After that man, at the time of the census, Judas the Galilean appeared and got people to follow him. He, too, died, and all his followers were scattered.

Jesus answered them, "See to it that no one deceives you, because many will come in my name and say, "I'm the Messiah,' and they will deceive many people.

"At that time, if anyone says to you, "Look! Here's the Messiah!' or "There he is!', don't believe it, because false messiahs and false prophets will appear and display great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. Remember, I've told you this beforehand. read more.
So if they say to you, "Look! He's in the wilderness,' don't go out looking for him. And if they say, "Look! He's in the storeroom,' don't believe it,

Jesus began to say to them, "See to it that no one deceives you. Many will come in my name and say, "I AM,' and they will deceive many people.

"At that time, if anyone says to you, "Look! Here is the Messiah!', or, "Look! There he is!' don't believe it, because false messiahs and false prophets will appear and produce signs and omens to deceive, if possible, the elect. So be on your guard! I've told you everything before it happens."

People will say to you, "Look! There he is!' or "Look! Here he is!' But don't go and chase after him. Because just as lightning flashes and shines from one end of the sky to the other, so will the Son of Man be in his time.

He said, "Be careful that you are not deceived, because many will come in my name and say, "I AM' and, "The time has come.' Don't follow them.

Little children, I'm with you only a little longer. You will look for me, but what I told the Jewish leaders I now tell you, "Where I'm going, you cannot come.'

Later on, he told them again, "I'm going away, and you'll look for me, but you will die in your sin. You cannot come where I'm going."

Then Jesus said, "I'll be with you only a little while longer, and then I'm going back to the one who sent me. You'll look for me but won't find me. And where I am, you cannot come."

because you will always have the destitute with you, but you won't always have me."

The next day, as they were leaving Bethany, Jesus became hungry. Seeing in the distance a fig tree covered with leaves, he went to see if he could find anything on it. When he came to it, he found nothing except leaves because it wasn't the season for figs. So he told it, "May no one ever eat fruit from you again!" Now his disciples were listening to this.

"O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, who kills the prophets and stones to death those who have been sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were unwilling! Look! Your house is left abandoned! I tell you, you will not see me again until you say, "How blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord!'"

When he came closer and saw the city, he began to grieve over it: "If you had only known today what could have brought you peace! But now it is hidden from your sight, because the days will come when your enemies will build walls around you, surround you, and close you in on every side. read more.
They will level you to the ground you and those who live within your city limits. They will not leave one stone on another within your walls, because you didn't recognize the time when you were visited." Then Jesus went into the Temple and began to throw out those who were selling things. He told them, "It is written, "My house is to be called a house of prayer,' but you have turned it into a hideout for bandits!" Then he began teaching in the Temple every day. The high priests, the scribes, and the leaders of the people kept looking for a way to kill him, but they couldn't find a way to do it, because all the people were eager to hear him.

So Jesus told them, "When you have lifted up the Son of Man, then you will know that I AM, and that I do nothing on my own authority. Instead, I speak only what the Father has taught me.

But first he must suffer a great deal and be rejected by those living today.

"Listen to another parable. There was a landowner who planted a vineyard, put a wall around it, dug a wine press in it, and built a watchtower. Then he leased it to tenant farmers and went abroad. When harvest time approached, he sent his servants to the tenant farmers to collect his produce. But the farmers took his servants and beat one, killed another, and attacked another with stones. read more.
Again, he sent other servants to them, a greater number than the first, but the tenant farmers treated them the same way. Finally, he sent his son to them, thinking, "They will respect my son.' But when the tenant farmers saw his son, they told one another, "This is the heir. Come on, let's kill him and get his inheritance!' So they grabbed him, threw him out of the vineyard, and killed him. Now when the owner of the vineyard returns, what will he do to those farmers?" They told him, "He will put those horrible men to a horrible death. Then he will lease the vineyard to other farmers who will give him his produce at harvest time." Jesus asked them, "Have you never read in the Scriptures, "The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone. This was the Lord's doing, and it is amazing in our eyes.'? That is why I tell you that the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people who will produce fruit for it. The person who falls over this stone will be broken to pieces, but it will crush anyone on whom it falls."

I tell all of you with certainty, wherever this gospel is proclaimed throughout the whole world, what she has done will also be told as a memorial to her."

She has done what she could. She poured perfume on my body in preparation for my burial. I tell all of you with certainty, wherever the gospel is proclaimed in the whole world, what she has done will also be told as a memorial to her."

"And you, Capernaum! You won't be lifted up to heaven, will you? You'll go down to Hell! Because if the miracles that happened in you had taken place in Sodom, it would have remained to this day.

And you, Capernaum! You won't be lifted up to heaven, will you? You'll go down to Hell!

These were the things he said. Then after this, he told them, "Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep, but I'm leaving to wake him up."

Jesus told her, "Your brother will rise again."

It would have been better for him if he had never been born." Then Judas, who was going to betray him, asked, "Rabbi, I'm not the one, am I?" Jesus told him, "You have said so."

Jesus told him, "Feed my sheep. "Truly, I tell you emphatically, when you were young, you would fasten your belt and go wherever you liked. But when you get old, you will stretch out your hands, and someone else will fasten your belt and take you where you don't want to go." Now he said this to show by what kind of death he would glorify God. After saying this, Jesus told him, "Keep following me." Peter turned around and noticed the disciple whom Jesus kept loving following them. He was the one who had put his head on Jesus' chest at the supper and had asked, "Lord, who is the one who is going to betray you?" read more.
When Peter saw him, he said, "Lord, what about him?" Jesus told him, "If it's my will for him to remain until I come back, how does that concern you? You must keep following me!" So the rumor spread among the brothers that this disciple wasn't going to die. Yet Jesus didn't say to Peter that he wasn't going to die, but, "If it's my will for him to remain until I come back, how does that concern you?"

"That is why I am sending you prophets, wise men, and scribes. Some of them you will kill and crucify, and some of them you will whip in your synagogues and persecute from town to town. As a result, you will be held accountable for all the righteous blood shed on earth, from the blood of the righteous Abel to the blood of Berechiah's son Zechariah, whom you murdered between the sanctuary and the altar. I tell all of you with certainty, all these things will happen to those living today."

Listen, the time is coming, indeed it has already come, when you will be scattered, each of you to his own home, and you will leave me all by myself. Yet I'm not alone, because the Father is with me.
