17 Bible Verses about Abandoning Friends

As for your friend and a friend of your father, do not forsake [them], and the house of your brother, do not enter on the day of your calamity. Better is a close neighbor than a distant brother.

My relatives have failed, and my close friends have forgotten me.

I [am] afflicted and perishing from [my] youth. I bear your terrors. I am distraught. Your burning anger has passed over me; your sudden fears have destroyed me. They surround me like water all the day; they circle about me altogether. You have removed loved one and friend far from me, my acquaintances [far from my] darkness.

Your lifestyle [must be] free from the love of money, being content with what you have. For he himself has said, "I will never desert you, and I will never abandon you."

Do not be deceived! "Bad company corrupts good morals."

A man of [many] friends will come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.
