In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:

Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:

Blessed are the peace-makers: for they shall be called children of God.

He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit, than he that taketh a city.

He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding: but he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly.

The discretion of a man deferreth his anger; and it is his glory to pass over a transgression.

For if ye love them who love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so? Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father who is in heaven is perfect.
