But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as those who are of the nations: for they think they shall be heard through their much speaking.

Thus saith Jehovah concerning the prophets that cause my people to err, that bite with their teeth, and cry, Peace! but whoso putteth not into their mouths they prepare war against him:

Let no one deceive you with vain words, for on account of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. Be not ye therefore fellow-partakers with them; for ye were once darkness, but now light in the Lord; walk as children of light,read more.

Wine is a scorner, strong drink is raging; and whoso erreth thereby is not wise.

O Timotheus, keep the entrusted deposit, avoiding profane, vain babblings, and oppositions of false-named knowledge,

The wise in heart receiveth commandments; but a prating fool shall fall. He that walketh in integrity walketh securely; but he that perverteth his ways shall be known. He that winketh with the eye causeth grief, and a prating fool shall fall.

It is a lamentation, and thus they shall lament her: the daughters of the nations shall say it in lamenting; they shall say it in lamenting over Egypt and over all her multitude, saith the Lord Jehovah.

What is it then, brethren? whenever ye come together, each of you has a psalm, has a teaching, has a tongue, has a revelation, has an interpretation. Let all things be done to edification.
