And he who does not take up his cross and follow Me is not worthy of Me.

If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple. And whoever does not bear his cross and come after Me, he cannot be My disciple.

He spoke this signifying by what death he should glorify God. And when He had spoken this, He said to him, Follow Me.

Take My yoke on you and learn of Me, for I am meek and lowly in heart, and you shall find rest to your souls.

And there was also a dispute among them as to which of them seems to be greater. And He said to them, The kings of the nations exercise lordship over them. And they who exercise authority on them are called benefactors. But you shall not be so: but the greater among you, let him be as the lesser, and he who governs, as one who serves.

If then I, the Lord and the Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet. For I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you.

Do not let each man look upon his own things, but each man also on the things of others. For let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus,

This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.

By this we have known the love of God, because He laid down His life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.

I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. As I have loved you, you should also love one another.

These things I command you, that you love one another.
