Watch and pray that you enter not into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
Do not deprive one another, unless it is with consent for a time, so that you may give yourselves to fasting and prayer. And come together again so that Satan does not tempt you for your incontinence.
No temptation has taken you but what is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but with the temptation also will make a way to escape, so that you may be able to bear it.
For this cause, when I could no longer endure, I also sent to know your faith, lest by some means the tempter may have tempted you and our labor may have been in vain.
For in that He Himself has suffered, having been tempted, He is able to rescue those who are being tempted.
My brothers, count it all joy when you fall into different kinds of temptations, knowing that the trying of your faith works patience.
Because you have kept the Word of My patience, I also will keep you from the hour of temptation which will come upon all the habitable world, to try those who dwell upon the earth.
Fight the good fight of faith. Lay hold on eternal life, to which you are also called and have professed a good profession before many witnesses.
If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons, for what son is he whom the father does not chasten? But if you are without chastisement, of which all are partakers, then you are bastards and not sons. Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh who corrected us, and we gave them reverence. Watch! Stand fast in the faith! Be men! Be strong!
