And he said unto all, 'If any one doth will to come after me, let him disown himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me; for whoever may will to save his life, shall lose it, and whoever may lose his life for my sake, he shall save it;
for to this ye were called, because Christ also did suffer for you, leaving to you an example, that ye may follow his steps, who did not commit sin, nor was guile found in his mouth, who being reviled -- was not reviling again, suffering -- was not threatening, and was committing himself to Him who is judging righteously,
'If any one doth come unto me, and doth not hate his own father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brothers, and sisters, and yet even his own life, he is not able to be my disciple; and whoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, is not able to be my disciple.
and this he said, signifying by what death he shall glorify God; and having said this, he saith to him, 'Be following me.'

take up my yoke upon you, and learn from me, because I am meek and humble in heart, and ye shall find rest to your souls,

'A new commandment I give to you, that ye love one another; according as I did love you, that ye also love one another;
