For the country of which we are citizens is heaven, whence also we wait for a Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ,
So then ye are no longer strangers and foreigners, but are fellowcitizens with the saints, and members of the household of God,
that ye were at that time without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers to the covenants of the promise, having no hope, and without God, in the world;
But Paul said, I am a Jew of Tarsus, a citizen of no mean city of Cilicia; and I beseech thee, suffer me to speak to the people.

But Paul said to them, They have publicly beaten us uncondemned, although we are Romans, and have thrust us into prison; and now do they thrust us out secretly? No; but let them come themselves, and bring us out.
He that overcometh, I will make him a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall nevermore go out; and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my Gods and I will write upon him my new name.
The chief captain answered, For a great sum I obtained this citizenship. And Paul said, But I was born a Roman.
And when he said, Of strangers, Jesus said to him, Then are the sons free.
And they shall not teach every one his fellowcitizen, and every one his brother, saying, Know the Lord; for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.
and are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the chief cornerstone;
But his citizens hated him, and sent an embassy after him, saying, We will not have this man to reign over us.
but now they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly. Wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God; for he prepared for them a city.
They therefore who were about to examine him left him immediately. And the chief captain also was alarmed when he knew that he was a Roman, and because he had bound him.
