Act as shepherds to the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight, not by compulsion, but willingly; not for the sake of sordid gain, but from readiness of mind:

Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

Therefore, take heed to yourselves, and to all the flock over which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, that you be shepherds to the church of God, which he has purchased with his own blood. For I know this, that, after my departure, rapacious wolves will enter in among you, who will not spare the flock;

What think you? If a man have a hundred sheep, and one of them go astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine, and go into the mountains, and seek for that which has gone astray? And if it so be that he find it, verily I say to you, he rejoices over it more than over the ninety-nine that did not go astray. Even so, it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven, that one of these little ones should be lost.
