35 Bible Verses about God's People Sinning

Aaron said, Do not be angry with me. You know the people as well as I do. They are determined to do evil.

The punishment of the daughter of my people is greater than the punishment of Sodom, which was overturned suddenly without a hand lifted to help her.

Yet you have not merely walked in their ways or done according to their abominations; but, as if that were too little, you acted more corruptly in all your conduct than they.

Prepare chains for the land is full of bloodshed and the city full of violence.

So Moses went back to Jehovah and said: These people have committed such a serious sin! They made a god out of gold for themselves.

I saw that you had indeed sinned against Jehovah your God. You made yourselves an idol, cast in the shape of a calf. You turned aside quickly from the way Jehovah had commanded you.

Great is the sin of Jerusalem! For this cause she has become an unclean thing. Those who gave her honor are looking down on her. They see her shame. Now truly, sighing out grief, she turns back.

The people of Judah sinned against Jehovah. They did more to arouse his anger against them than all their ancestors had done.

The children of Israel did evil in the sight of Jehovah, and served Baalim:

The people of Israel forgot Jehovah their God. They sinned against him and worshiped the idols of Baal and Asherah.

The people of Israel sinned against Jehovah again. Because of this Jehovah made King Eglon of Moab stronger than Israel.

After Ehud died, the people of Israel sinned against Jehovah again.

Again the people of Israel sinned against Jehovah. Therefore he let the people of Midian rule them for seven years.

Once again the Israelites did evil against Jehovah by worshiping the Baals and the Astartes. They also worshiped the gods of Syria, of Sidon, of Moab, of Ammon, and of the Philistines. They abandoned Jehovah and stopped worshiping him.

The Israelites sinned against Jehovah again. So he let the Philistines rule them for forty years.

The next day Moses said to the people: You have committed a serious sin. Now I will go up the mountain to Jehovah. Maybe I will be able to make a payment for your sin and make atonement with Jehovah for your sin.

It is the dry season and the wheat harvest. I will pray and Jehovah will send thunder and rain. When this happens, you will realize that you committed a great sin against Jehovah when you asked him for a king.

Then lie on your left side and put the sin of the house of Israel upon yourself. You are to bear their sin for the number of days you lie on your side.

Jehovah says: The people of Israel have not stopped sinning against me since the time of their sin at Gibeah. So at Gibeah war will catch up with them.

Ephraim's wickedness is on record. The record of the people's sins is safely stored away.

But instead you plowed evil and harvested unrighteousness. You have eaten the fruit produced by your lies. This is because you trusted in your way and in the large number of your soldiers.

The Lord Jehovah said: You are doomed! Doomed! You did all that evil, and then

You will have to suffer disgrace because you accused your sisters. Yet, your sins are more disgusting than theirs. They look like they are innocent compared to you. Be ashamed of yourself and suffer disgrace, because you have made your sisters look like they are innocent.'

Behold, the eyes of the Lord Jehovah are upon the sinful kingdom! Yet, I will destroy it from off the face of the earth! I will not utterly destroy the house of Jacob, said Jehovah.

Woe to those who devise iniquity and work evil upon their beds! When the morning comes they do it because they are able to (it is in the power of their hands).
