As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance: But as he who hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of deportment. Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.
For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revelings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries: In which they think it strange that ye run not with them to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of you:
For whatever is born of God, overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thy own name those whom thou hast given to me, that they may be one, as we are.
As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good to all men, especially to them who are of the household of faith.
