For married people these are my instructions (and they are the Lord's, not mine). A wife is not to separate from her husband ??11 if she has separated, she must either remain single or be reconciled to him ??and a husband must not put away his wife.
You know the commands: do not commit adultery, do not kill, do not steal, do not bear false witness, honour your father and mother."

Thus a married woman is bound by law to her husband while he is alive; but if the husband dies, she is done with the law of 'the husband.'
Whoever does not provide for his own relatives and particularly for his own family, has repudiated the faith: he is worse than an infidel.
