There is no need for him to give honour to his father. And you have made the word of God without effect because of your teaching.
And he said, Your brother came with deceit, and took away your blessing.
Every man cursing his father or his mother is certainly to be put to death; because of his curse on his father or his mother, his blood will be on him. And if a man has sex relations with another man's wife, even the wife of his neighbour, he and she are certainly to be put to death.
And this again you do: covering the altar of the Lord with weeping and with grief, so that he gives no more thought to the offering, and does not take it with pleasure from your hand. But you say, For what reason? Because the Lord has been a witness between you and the wife of your early years, to whom you have been untrue, though she is your friend and the wife to whom you have given your word.
The wife has not power over her body, but the husband; and in the same way the husband has not power over his body, but the wife. Husbands, have love for your wives, and be not bitter against them.
And the right is turned back, and righteousness is far away: for good faith is not to be seen in the public places, and upright behaviour may not come into the town.
