In the days of his flesh, Jesus offered up prayers and supplications, with loud cries and tears, to the one who was able to save him from death, and he was heard because of his godly fear.
When all the people were being baptized, Jesus was also baptized. And as he was praying, the heaven was opened
And after he had dismissed the crowds, he went up on the mountain by himself to pray. When evening came, he was there alone,
In those days he went out to the mountain to pray, and all night he continued in prayer to God.
Now in the morning, a long while before daylight, he rose and went out to a solitary place, and there he prayed.
Now it happened that as he was praying alone his disciples were with him; and he asked them, "Who do the crowds say that I am?"
Then Jesus went with his disciples to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to them, "Sit here while I go over there and pray."
And going a little farther he fell on his face and prayed, "O my Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as you will."
Again, a second time, he went away and prayed, "O my Father, if this cup cannot pass away unless I drink it, your will be done."
So he left them, went away again, and prayed the third time, saying the same words.
They went to a place which was called Gethsemane; and he said to his disciples, "Sit here, while I pray."
And going a little farther, he fell on the ground and prayed that, if it were possible, the hour might pass from him.
He was praying in a certain place, and when he ceased, one of his disciples said to him, "Lord, teach us to pray, as John taught his disciples."
Then he commanded the multitudes to sit down on the grass. And taking the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, he blessed and broke and gave the loaves to the disciples; and the disciples gave them to the multitudes.
Then little children were brought to him that he might put his hands on them and pray, but the disciples rebuked them.
Do you think that I cannot appeal to my Father, and he will at once send me more than twelve legions of angels?
I pray for them. I am not praying for the world, but for those whom you have given me, for they are yours.
"I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in me through their word;
But I have prayed for you, that your faith may not fail; and when you have turned again, strengthen your brethren."
Therefore he is able also to save forever those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.
In that day you will ask in my name. And I do not say to you that I shall pray the Father for you;
When Jesus had spoken these words, he lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said: "Father, the hour has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son also may glorify you, as you have given him authority over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to all those you have given him. And this is eternal life, that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.read more.
I have glorified you on the earth, having finished the work which you have given me to do. And now, Father, glorify me in your own presence with the glory which I had with you before the world was made. "I have manifested your name to the men whom you have given me out of the world. They were yours; you gave them to me, and they have kept your word. Now they know that everything you have given me comes from you. For I have given them the words which you have given me, and they have received them and know in truth that I came from you; and they have believed that you sent me. I pray for them. I am not praying for the world, but for those whom you have given me, for they are yours. And all mine are yours, and yours are mine, and I am glorified in them. And now I am no longer in the world, but they are in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, keep them in your name the name you gave me that they may be one, even as we are one. But now I am coming to you, and these things I speak in the world, that they may have my joy fulfilled in themselves. I have given them your word; and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. I do not pray that you should take them out of the world, but that you should keep them from the evil one. They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth. As you sent me into the world, I also have sent them into the world. And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also may be sanctified in truth. "I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in me through their word; that they all may be one, as you, Father, are in me, and I in you; that they also may be in us, that the world may believe that you sent me. And the glory which you gave me I have given them, that they may be one just as we are one: I in them, and you in me; that they may become perfectly one, and that the world may know that you have sent me, and have loved them even as you have loved me. Father, I desire that they also whom you have given me may be with me where I am, that they may behold my glory which you have given me, for you loved me before the foundation of the world. O righteous Father, the world has not known you, but I have known you; and these know that you sent me.
And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor, to be with you forever
Who is he who condemns? It is Christ Jesus, who died, yes, who was raised from the dead, who is at the right hand of God, who is also interceding for us.
