Man is like vanity. His days are as a shadow that passes away.

The grass withers, the flower fades, because the breath of LORD blows upon it. Surely the people is grass. The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God shall stand forever.

And they went forth with them from Ur of the Chaldees, to go into the land of Canaan. And they came to Hara And the days of Terah were two hundred and five years, and Terah died in Haran.
Honor thy father and thy mother, that thy days may be long in the land which LORD thy God gives thee.

And if thou will walk in my ways, to keep my statutes and my commandments, as thy father David walked, then I will lengthen thy days.
For length of days, and years of life, and peace, they will add to thee.
For he who wants to love life, and see good days, let him restrain his tongue from evil, and his lips not to speak deceit.
What man is he who desires life, and loves [many] days, that he may see good? Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking deceit.
I loathe [my life]. I would not live always. Let me alone, for my days are vanity.
