So reckon ye also yourselves to be dead to sin, and alive to God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
But I say to you, That every idle word which men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was imputed to him for righteousness. Now to him that worketh, the reward is not reckoned of grace, but of debt. But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is imputed to him for righteousness.read more.
So David also describeth the happiness of the man, to whom God imputeth righteousness without works:
Cometh this happiness then on the circumcision only, or on the uncircumcision also? For we say that faith was imputed to Abraham for righteousness. How was it then imputed? When he was in circumcision, or in uncircumcision? Not in circumcision, but in uncircumcision. And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith, which he had in uncircumcision, that he might be the father of all who believe in uncircumcision, that righteousness may be imputed to them also,
And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed to him for righteousness: and he was called the friend of God.
But on ours also, to whom it will be imputed, if we believe on him who raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead.

Therefore if the uncircumcision keep the righteousness of the law, shall not his uncircumcision be counted for circumcision?
For I reckon that the sufferings of the present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
At my first defence no man was with me, but all forsook me: may it not be laid to their charge?
And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, And he was numbered with the transgressors.
So that the blood of all the prophets shed from the foundation of the world, shall be required of this generation.
Simon answering said, I suppose, he to whom he forgave most. He said to him, Thou hast rightly judged.
