Be ye also patient, stablish your hearts; for the coming of the Lord is nigh.

Wherefore, seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which easily besetteth us, and run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking to Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith;

Finally, brethren, be strong through the Lord, and through the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the world, of the darkness of this age, against wicked spirits in heavenly places.read more.
Wherefore take to you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Having a good conscience, that whereas they speak against you as evil doers, they may be ashamed who falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.

And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also, knowing that tribulation worketh patience, And patience experience, and experience hope; And hope shameth us not, because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts, by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper; I will not fear what man can do unto me.

Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee, from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon the whole world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.

Let your disposition be without covetousness: be content with the things that are present; for he hath said, No, I will not leave thee: verily I will not forsake thee.

Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you; and lo I am with you always, even to the end of the world.

Then released he Barabbas to them, and having scourged Jesus, he delivered him to be crucified. Then the soldiers of the governour, taking Jesus into the common hall, gathered to him the whole troop. And they stripped him and put on him a scarlet robe,read more.
And platting a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a cane in his right-hand; and kneeling before him, they mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews. And spitting on him, they took the cane and smote him on the head. And after they had mocked him, they stripped him of the robe, and put his own raiment on him, and led him away to crucify him.

And Pilate, willing to satisfy the people, released Barabbas to them, and having scourged Jesus, delivered him to be crucified. And the soldiers led him away into the hall called Pretorium, and call together the whole troop. And they clothe him with purple, and having platted a crown of thorns, put it about his head.read more.
And they saluted him, Hail, king of the Jews. And they smote him on the oead with a cane, and spit upon him, and bowing their knees, did him homage. And when they had mocked him, they took off the purple robe from him, and put his own clothes on him, and led him out to crucify him.

For what glory is it, if when ye commit faults and are buffeted, ye take it patiently? But if when ye do well and suffer, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God. Who when he was reviled, reviled not again, when he suffered he threatened not, but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously:

But even if ye do suffer for righteousness sake, happy are ye; and be not afraid of their terror, neither be ye troubled, But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: And be always ready to give an answer to every one that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear: Having a good conscience, that whereas they speak against you as evil doers, they may be ashamed who falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.read more.
For it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well-doing than for evil-doing.

rejoice, that when his glory shall be revealed, ye may likewise rejoice with exceeding great joy. If ye are reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil-spoken of, but on your part he is glorified.
