Jacob's well was there, so Jesus, since he was tired from the journey, sat right down beside the well. It was about noon.

We are pursued -- they are breathing down our necks; we are weary and have no rest.

But above all pursue his kingdom and righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. So then, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Today has enough trouble of its own.

And you will be secure, because there is hope; you will be protected and will take your rest in safety. You will lie down with no one to make you afraid, and many will seek your favor.

I rested and slept; I awoke, for the Lord protects me.

I constantly trust in the Lord; because he is at my right hand, I will not be upended.

When you lie down you will not be filled with fear; when you lie down your sleep will be pleasant.

Do not be anxious about anything. Instead, in every situation, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, tell your requests to God. And the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

to aspire to lead a quiet life, to attend to your own business, and to work with your hands, as we commanded you.

Pursue peace with everyone, and holiness, for without it no one will see the Lord.

But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, accommodating, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial, and not hypocritical. And the fruit that consists of righteousness is planted in peace among those who make peace.

Finally, all of you be harmonious, sympathetic, affectionate, compassionate, and humble.

Now a great windstorm developed and the waves were breaking into the boat, so that the boat was nearly swamped. But he was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. They woke him up and said to him, "Teacher, don't you care that we are about to die?"

There will be no prosperity for the wicked," says the Lord.

But the wicked are like a surging sea that is unable to be quiet; its waves toss up mud and sand. There will be no prosperity," says my God, "for the wicked."
