the king shall say to those on his right hand, come, ye blessed of my father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. for I was prest with hunger, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye took care of me: I was in prison, and ye visited me. then will the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when did we see thee in hunger, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? when did we see thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? or when did we see thee sick, or in prison, and visited thee? and the king will reply, I declare unto you, your having done this for one of the least of these my brethren, is the same thing as doing it for me.

for the eyes of the Lord are upon the virtuous, and his ears attend to their prayers, but the wicked he discountenances."

There it is that divine justification is revealed to be wholly by faith: as it is written, " the just shall live by faith."

but that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, is evident: for, " the just shall live by faith."

the just shall have life by trusting in me, but if he revolt, he will be the object of my displeasure.

that ye may be the children of your father who is in heaven, for he causes his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

I do indeed own, that I serve the God of our nation according to the discipline they call sect: and believe whatever is written in the law and in the prophets. I have the same expectations from the DEITY, which they themselves entertain, that of the resurrection both of the just and of the unjust. and 'tis my endeavour to preserve a conscience free from reproach both with respect to God, and with respect to men.
