Because you say, 'I am rich, and have gotten riches, and have need of nothing'; and do not know that you are the wretched one, and pitiable, and poor, and blind, and naked!

And He spake also this parable to some who had trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised the rest:

Charge those who are rich in this present age, not to be high-minded, nor to have their hope set on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, Who giveth us richly all things for enjoyment;

And he said, 'This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build larger ones; and there will I store all my grain and my goods. And I will say to my soul, Soul, you have much goods laid up for many years; take your ease, eat, drink, be merry.' But God said to him, 'Senseless one! this night they require your soul of you; and the things you prepared, whose shall they be?'
