And one of them, whose name was Cleopas, answering, said to him, Art thou only a stranger in Jerusalem, and hast not known the things which have come to pass there in these days?

Now his parents went to Jerusalem every year at the feast of the passover.

On the next day, many people that had come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem,

Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia, Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and Proselytes, Cretes and Arabians we hear them speak in our languages the wonderful works of God.

And he arose, and went: and behold, a man of Ethiopia, a eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem to worship, Was returning; and sitting in his chariot, read Isaiah the prophet.

For a friend of mine in his journey is come to me, and I have nothing to set before him?

And it came to pass in those days, when Moses was grown, that he went out to his brethren, and looked on their burdens: and he spied an Egyptian smiting a Hebrew, one of his brethren.

And Jesus answered, and said to her, Martha, Martha, thou art anxious, and troubled about many things: But one thing is needful; and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.

Then Martha, as soon as she heard that Jesus was coming, went and met him: but Mary sat in the house.

Now after two days he departed thence, and went into Galilee. For Jesus himself testified that a prophet hath no honor in his own country. Then when he had come into Galilee, the Galileans received him, having seen all the things that he did at Jerusalem at the feast: for they also went to the feast.read more.

Which also they did, and sent it to the elders by the hands of Barnabas and Saul.

Then it pleased the apostles and elders, with the whole church, to send chosen men of their own company to Antioch, with Paul and Barnabas; namely, Judas surnamed Barsabas, and Silas, chief men among the brethren:

Then fourteen years after I went again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, and took Titus with me also. And I went by revelation, and communicated to them that gospel which I preach among the Gentiles, but privately to them who were of reputation, lest by any means I should run, or had run in vain.

And it came to pass, as Peter passed throughout all quarters, he came down also to the saints who dwelt at Lydda.

And in these days came prophets from Jerusalem to Antioch.

Now if Timothy come, see that he may be with you without fear: for he worketh the work of the Lord, as I also do.

And we have sent with them our brother, whom we have often proved to be diligent in many things, but now much more diligent, upon the great confidence which I have in you. If any inquire concerning Titus, he is my partner and fellow-helper concerning you: or our brethren be inquired of, they are the messengers of the churches, and the glory of Christ. Wherefore show ye to them, and before the churches, the proof of your love, and of our boasting on your behalf.

But when Peter had come to Antioch, I withstood him to the face, because he was to be blamed.

But I trust in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy shortly to you, that I also may be of good comfort, when I know your state.

And some days after, Paul said to Barnabas, Let us go again and visit our brethren, in every city where we have preached the word of the Lord, and see how they do. And Barnabas determined to take with them John, whose surname was Mark. But Paul thought not good to take him with them, who departed from them from Pamphylia, and went not with them to the work.read more.
And the contention was so sharp between them, that they departed, separating one from the other: and so Barnabas took Mark, and sailed to Cyprus. And Paul chose Silas, and departed, being commended by the brethren to the grace of God. And he went through Syria and Cilicia, confirming the churches.

After these things were ended, Paul purposed in the spirit, when he had passed through Macedonia, and Achaia, to go to Jerusalem, saying, After I have been there, I must also see Rome.

But now having no more place in these parts, and having a great desire these many years to come to you; Whenever I take my journey into Spain, I will come to you: for I trust to see you in my journey, and to be brought on my way thitherward by you, if first I shall be somewhat filled with your company. But now I go to Jerusalem to minister to the saints.read more.
For it hath pleased them of Macedonia and Achaia to make a certain contribution for the poor of the saints who are at Jerusalem. It hath pleased them verily; and their debtors they are. For if the Gentiles have been made partakers of their spiritual things, their duty is also to minister to them in carnal things. And in this confidence I purposed to come to you before, that ye might have a second benefit; And to pass by you into Macedonia, and to come again from Macedonia to you, and by you to be brought on my way towards Judea.

But I determined this with myself, that I would not come again to you in heaviness.

Behold, the third time I am ready to come to you; and I will not be burdensome to you: for I seek not yours, but you. For the children ought not to lay up for the parents, but the parents for the children.

For yourselves, brethren, know our entrance to you, that it was not in vain:

When I shall send Artemas to thee, or Tychicus, be diligent to come to me to Nicopolis: for I have determined there to winter.

And from thence when the brethren heard of us, they came to meet us as far as Appii-forum, and the Three taverns: whom when Paul saw, he thanked God, and took courage.

Yet I supposed it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus, my brother, and companion in labor, and fellow-soldier, but your messenger, and he that ministered to my wants.

The Lord give mercy to the house of Onesiphorus; for he often refreshed me, and was not ashamed of my chain: But, when he was in Rome, he sought me out very diligently, and found me.

Do thy diligence to come shortly to me: For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world, and hath departed to Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus to Dalmatia. Luke only is with me. Take Mark, and bring him with thee: for he is profitable to me for the ministry.read more.
And Tychicus have I sent to Ephesus. The cloke that I left at Troas with Carpus, when thou comest, bring with thee, and the books, but especially the parchments.

Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them who suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body.

Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for by this some have entertained angels unawares.
