for let none of you suffer as a murderer, or thief, or evil-doer, or as an inspector into other men's matters; and if as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; and let him glorify God in this respect;

Do not wonder, my brethren, if the world doth hate you;

'Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when did we see thee hungering, and we nourished? or thirsting, and we gave to drink? and when did we see thee a stranger, and we received? or naked, and we put around? and when did we see thee infirm, or in prison, and we came unto thee? And the king answering, shall say to them, Verily I say to you, Inasmuch as ye did it to one of these my brethren -- the least -- to me ye did it.

and whoever may cause to stumble one of the little ones believing in me, better is it for him if a millstone is hanged about his neck, and he hath been cast into the sea.

And he said unto the disciples, 'It is impossible for the stumbling blocks not to come, but woe to him through whom they come;

and having fallen upon the earth, he heard a voice saying to him, 'Saul, Saul, why me dost thou persecute?' And he said, 'Who art thou, Lord?' and the Lord said, 'I am Jesus whom thou dost persecute; hard for thee at the pricks to kick;'

and ye shall be hated by all because of my name, but he who hath endured to the end -- he shall be saved.

'Ye may not suppose that I came to put peace on the earth; I did not come to put peace, but a sword; for I came to set a man at variance against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law, and the enemies of a man are those of his household.

and his brethren see that their father hath loved him more than any of his brethren, and they hate him, and have not been able to speak to him peaceably. And Joseph dreameth a dream, and declareth to his brethren, and they add still more to hate him. And he saith unto them, 'Hear ye, I pray you, this dream which I have dreamed: that, lo, we are binding bundles in the midst of the field, and lo, my bundle hath arisen, and hath also stood up, and lo, your bundles are round about, and bow themselves to my bundle.' And his brethren say to him, 'Dost thou certainly reign over us? dost thou certainly rule over us?' and they add still more to hate him, for his dreams, and for his words. And he dreameth yet another dream, and recounteth it to his brethren, and saith, 'Lo, I have dreamed a dream again, and lo, the sun and the moon, and eleven stars, are bowing themselves to me.' And he recounteth unto his father, and unto his brethren; and his father pusheth against him, and saith to him, 'What is this dream which thou hast dreamt? do we certainly come -- I, and thy mother, and thy brethren -- to bow ourselves to thee, to the earth?' and his brethren are zealous against him, and his father hath watched the matter.

For a son is dishonouring a father, A daughter hath stood against her mother, A daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law, The enemies of each are the men of his house.

'And brother shall deliver up brother to death, and father child, and children shall rise up against parents, and shall put them to death,

and Saul was making havoc of the assembly, into every house entering, and haling men and women, was giving them up to prison;

And Saul, yet breathing of threatening and slaughter to the disciples of the Lord, having gone to the chief priest, did ask from him letters to Damascus, unto the synagogues, that if he may find any being of the way, both men and women, he may bring them bound to Jerusalem.

And there did come also false prophets among the people, as also among you there shall be false teachers, who shall bring in besides destructive sects, and the Master who bought them denying, bringing to themselves quick destruction,

out of the synagogues they will put you; but an hour doth come, that every one who hath killed you, may think to offer service unto God;

and he said, 'Lo, I see the heavens having been opened, and the Son of Man standing on the right hand of God.' And they, having cried out with a loud voice, stopped their ears, and did rush with one accord upon him, and having cast him forth outside of the city, they were stoning him -- and the witnesses did put down their garments at the feet of a young man called Saul -- read more.

I, indeed, therefore, thought with myself, that against the name of Jesus of Nazareth it behoved me many things to do, which also I did in Jerusalem, and many of the saints I in prison did shut up, from the chief priests having received the authority; they also being put to death, I gave my vote against them,

And when he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those slain because of the word of God, and because of the testimony that they held,

but I -- I say to you, Love your enemies, bless those cursing you, do good to those hating you, and pray for those accusing you falsely, and persecuting you, that ye may be sons of your Father in the heavens, because His sun He doth cause to rise on evil and good, and He doth send rain on righteous and unrighteous.

If I rejoice at the ruin of my hater, And stirred up myself when evil found him, Yea, I have not suffered my mouth to sin, To ask with an oath his life.

'But I say to you who are hearing, Love your enemies, do good to those hating you, bless those cursing you, and pray for those accusing you falsely; and to him smiting thee upon the cheek, give also the other, and from him taking away from thee the mantle, also the coat thou mayest not keep back.

And Jesus said, 'Father, forgive them, for they have not known what they do;' and parting his garments they cast a lot.

Bless those persecuting you; bless, and curse not;

not giving back evil for evil, or railing for railing, and on the contrary, blessing, having known that to this ye were called, that a blessing ye may inherit;

'And forgive us our debts, as also we forgive our debtors. And mayest Thou not lead us to temptation, but deliver us from the evil, because Thine is the reign, and the power, and the glory -- to the ages. Amen. For, if ye may forgive men their trespasses He also will forgive you -- your Father who is in the heavens;read more.

and forgive us our sins, for also we ourselves forgive every one indebted to us; and mayest Thou not bring us into temptation; but do Thou deliver us from the evil.'

and when they came to the place that is called Skull, there they crucified him and the evil-doers, one on the right hand and one on the left. And Jesus said, 'Father, forgive them, for they have not known what they do;' and parting his garments they cast a lot.

I will recompense again, saith the Lord;' if, then, thine enemy doth hunger, feed him; if he doth thirst, give him drink; for this doing, coals of fire thou shalt heap upon his head;

If he who is hating thee doth hunger, cause him to eat bread, And if he thirst, cause him to drink water. For coals thou art putting on his head, And Jehovah giveth recompense to thee.

And lo, a certain lawyer stood up, trying him, and saying, 'Teacher, what having done, life age-during shall I inherit?' And he said unto him, 'In the law what hath been written? how dost thou read?' And he answering said, 'Thou shalt love the Lord thy God out of all thy heart, and out of all thy soul, and out of all thy strength, and out of all thy understanding, and thy neighbour as thyself.'read more.
And he said to him, 'Rightly thou didst answer; this do, and thou shalt live.' 'When thou meetest thine enemy's ox or his ass going astray, thou dost certainly turn it back to him; when thou seest the ass of him who is hating thee crouching under its burden, then thou hast ceased from leaving it to it -- thou dost certainly leave it with him.

In the falling of thine enemy rejoice not, And in his stumbling let not thy heart be joyful, Lest Jehovah see, and it be evil in His eyes, And He hath turned from off him His anger.

Be not overcome by the evil, but overcome, in the good, the evil.

And Saul saith, 'I have sinned; turn back, my son David, for I do evil to thee no more, because that my soul hath been precious in thine eyes this day; lo, I have acted foolishly, and do err very greatly.'

Be sober, vigilant, because your opponent the devil, as a roaring lion, doth walk about, seeking whom he may swallow up,

And Jehovah saith unto the Adversary, 'Whence comest thou?' And the Adversary answereth Jehovah and saith, 'From going to and fro in the land, and from walking up and down on it.' And Jehovah saith unto the Adversary, 'Hast thou set thy heart against My servant Job because there is none like him in the land, a man perfect and upright, fearing God, and turning aside from evil?' And the Adversary answereth Jehovah and saith, 'For nought is Job fearing God?

And the Lord said, 'Simon, Simon, lo, the Adversary did ask you for himself to sift as the wheat,

and the Lord stood by me, and did strengthen me, that through me the preaching might be fully assured, and all the nations might hear, and I was freed out of the mouth of a lion, and the Lord shall free me from every evil work, and shall save me -- to his heavenly kingdom; to whom is the glory to the ages of the ages! Amen.

whom resist, stedfast in the faith, having known the same sufferings to your brotherhood in the world to be accomplished.

for the weapons of our warfare are not fleshly, but powerful to God for bringing down of strongholds,

As to the rest, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might; put on the whole armour of God, for your being able to stand against the wiles of the devil, because we have not the wrestling with blood and flesh, but with the principalities, with the authorities, with the world-rulers of the darkness of this age, with the spiritual things of the evil in the heavenly places;read more.
because of this take ye up the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to resist in the day of the evil, and all things having done -- to stand. Stand, therefore, having your loins girt about in truth, and having put on the breastplate of the righteousness, and having the feet shod in the preparation of the good-news of the peace; above all, having taken up the shield of the faith, in which ye shall be able all the fiery darts of the evil one to quench, and the helmet of the salvation receive, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the saying of God, through all prayer and supplication praying at all times in the Spirit, and in regard to this same, watching in all perseverance and supplication for all the saints --

I wish, therefore, younger ones to marry, to bear children, to be mistress of the house, to give no occasion to the opposer to reviling; for already certain did turn aside after the Adversary.

the good strife I have striven, the course I have finished, the faith I have kept,

be subject, then, to God; stand up against the devil, and he will flee from you;

Thou arrangest before me a table, Over-against my adversaries, Thou hast anointed with oil my head, My cup is full!

I do not ask that Thou mayest take them out of the world, but that Thou mayest keep them out of the evil.

A habitation is the eternal God, And beneath are arms age-during. And He casteth out from thy presence the enemy, and saith, 'Destroy!'

'And Jehovah sendeth Jerubbaal, and Bedan, and Jephthah, and Samuel, and delivereth you out of the hand of your enemies round about, and ye dwell confidently.

And David speaketh to Jehovah the words of this song in the day Jehovah hath delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul, and he saith: 'Jehovah is my rock, And my bulwark, and a deliverer to me, My God is my rock -- I take refuge in Him; My shield, and the horn of my salvation, My high tower, and my refuge! My Saviour, from violence Thou savest me!

Jehovah is my rock, and my bulwark, And my deliverer, My God is my rock, I trust in Him: My shield, and a horn of my salvation, My high tower.

Judge me, O God, And plead my cause against a nation not pious, From a man of deceit and perverseness Thou dost deliver me,

And did raise an horn of salvation to us, In the house of David His servant,

and I besought for thee, that thy faith may not fail; and thou, when thou didst turn, strengthen thy brethren.'

henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of the righteousness that the Lord -- the Righteous Judge -- shall give to me in that day, and not only to me, but also to all those loving his manifestation.

the last enemy is done away -- death;

For Thou hast delivered my soul from death, My eyes from tears, my feet from overthrowing.

and was made manifest now through the manifestation of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who indeed did abolish death, and did enlighten life and immortality through the good news,

and the death and the hades were cast to the lake of the fire -- this is the second death;

and God shall wipe away every tear from their eyes, and the death shall not be any more, nor sorrow, nor crying, nor shall there be any more pain, because the first things did go away.'
